Aryna Sabalenka
Sabalenka was born in Belarus in Minsk. The father of her Sergey (d. 2019) was an ice hockey player. Aryna Sabalenka was born in Minsk, Belarus on May 5 1998. She holds 12 WTA titles in her career, including the Grand Slam of 2023 Australian Open. Doubles is another area where she shines. It was the US Open 2019, and Australian Open 2021 were both won with Elise Mertens. She also achieved an incredible Sunshine Double in 2019, taking her the WTA 1000 at Indian Wells, Miami and the Australian Open alongside Elise Mertens. This feat was made possible by four couples playing in the women's doubles. Her ranking went from second to third place in the World Singles Rankings on 23 August 2021. Her best ranking was again achieved in January 2023. After winning the Melbourne doubles tournament in February 2021, she was able climb the ranks to be the number one player on the list of that particular specialty. Dmitry Tursunov was her coach from 2018, until her season came to an end in the year 2019. He also coached her for a short time at the start of 2020. The pair also briefly worked with Dieter Kindlmann in August until September of 2020. Her training has been provided by her fellow nationman Antonio Dubrov since the end of 2020. Serena Williams is her role for a role model, closely being followed by Maria Sharapova.
